FAQ About Our Translator Recruitment Process

I haven’t received a response to my translator application. Why?

If you did not receive an email response after submitting your application, it means that your profile does not match our selection criteria. Please do not follow up, as we receive dozens of applications every day. Unfortunately, we are unable to reply to everyone, and applications that do not meet our expectations are not processed. Thank you for your understanding.

Do you offer in-house translator job openings?

No, as we do not hire in-house translators. A job opening would imply that we are recruiting salaried translators, which is not the case. However, we collaborate with independent linguists and language professionals, often working as freelancers, self-employed professionals, or through umbrella companies (which we do not support). Applications for salaried translator positions will not be considered.

Do I need to take a free test before getting a translation job?

Not necessarily. If you apply as a technical translator or for a specialized field, we may ask you to complete a test to assess your skills. However, sworn translators do not need to take a test, as their certification is sufficient proof of their qualifications.

What are the requirements to work as a translator with your agency?

To collaborate with our agency as a freelance translator, you must meet strict professional criteria. Our translators are qualified professionals who translate only into their native language.

We only accept specialized translators—generalist applications will be rejected. At Assertrad, we also require a minimum of five years of experience in translation or language-related services (transcription, interpretation, multilingual desktop publishing, subtitling, localization, etc.).

Do I need to provide documents to support my application?

Yes. Due to an increase in fraudulent translator profiles, we always require the following:

Proof of identity.
Proof of full translation or interpretation qualifications (diploma, CV, and/or reference letters).
Proof of your sworn translator status (if applicable) to be eligible for our sworn translation agency.
Proof of business registration with the relevant commercial registry or foreign equivalent.
For freelance translators, an attestation of compliance issued by URSSAF (or the relevant tax authority) confirming that you are up to date with your social and tax obligations.

Any translator application that fails to provide the required documents (based on profile) will not be considered for collaboration. Thank you for your understanding.
